They never understood why
I hated going out to play with you so bad.
Don’t you like to play soccer?
che-yeah,
Everything was
pretty fun until our whole second grade class
started chanting
that we were going to get married,
because,
really, that's
everything I want.
Our parents think it too,
Though I never wanted you,
sorry dear,
I was always
aiming,
way too high.
For your brother
actually,
who
would never,
want,
me.
He kissed me
like an overdramatic actor
once,
and now
he apologizes for it
every time
I see the kid.
That’s right,
apologizes.
Which meant,
it will
never
mean
anything.
kiss my dreams
goodbye,
no longer
needing to be
alive.
what a poet,
I’ve become.
